Mary W. Stoertz, 49, of Athens, Ohio, passed away on February 26, 2007. She is remembered in these web pages, by family and friends, colleagues, graduate students, and many others whose lives she touched. Mary was married for 25 years to Doug Green and they have two sons - Kevin and Duncan. Kevin is now in college, and Duncan is in high school. She is survived by her mother Cynthia Riggs, three brothers - William, James and Robert - and her sister Ann, as well as numerous cousins, aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews, and in-laws. Mary received her Ph.D. degree in geology from University of Wisconsin, working on the flow and recharge of groundwater systems. She began working at Ohio University in 1992 as a faculty member in the Department of Geological Sciences and dedicated her teaching, student mentoring, research and service to the restoration of streams and rivers in southeast Ohio. It has been a year since Mary's death, and we miss
