Mary W. Stoertz, 49, of Athens, Ohio, passed away on February 26, 2007. She is remembered in these web pages, by family and friends, colleagues, graduate students, and many others whose lives she touched.

Mary was married for 25 years to Doug Green and they have two grown sons - Kevin and Duncan.

Mary is survived by her husband and sons, mother Cynthia Riggs, three brothers - William, James and Robert - and her sister Ann, as well as numerous cousins, aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews, and in-laws.

Mary received her Ph.D. in geology from University of Wisconsin, working on the flow and recharge of groundwater systems. She began working at Ohio University in 1992 as a faculty member in the Department of Geological Sciences and dedicated her teaching, student mentoring, research and service to the restoration of streams and rivers in southeast Ohio.

It has been a few years since Mary's death, and we miss her. We invite you to spend a little time on these pages, remembering our sister, mother, daughter, wife, colleague, and friend.
